We're Markham Dog Alliance!
We started as a community group, then officially registered as a business in 2023. We have now hosted over 50 events, worked with over 300+ businesses, raised over $20,000 for local charities/non-profits, and are just getting started! In 2024 we attracted over 20,000 guests to our events, with our feature event Barkham Event drawing 7-9,000 attendees!
Ellie
Adopted from Toronto Animal Services at the age of two, Ellie is the reason why MDA exists. It was the connections built through her at the Cornell Dog Park in Markham, Ontario that led to the large-scale dog-friendly events that we have today.
When Greg first brought Ellie home, Ellie was wearing a purple leash. Now you see the colour in our logo, banners, social media posts, and even this website. It's also the reason why our social media posts start with a purple heart - because that's where MDA started, with Ellie. 💜

We help promote, build and empower local businesses while creating inclusive spaces for our community to meet and connect. While doing this we promote rescues and charities to help animals in need.
