ELIGIBILITY

The Markham Dog Alliance Barkham Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by Markham Dog Alliance (“Sponsor”), Destination Markham, Hilton Toronto/Markham, Woofur, Claw and Kitty and Markham Museum. It is open to anyone in North America who have reached the age of majority in Canada at the time of the Contest.

The Contest is not open to elected officials, officers, directors, or employees of Destination Markham, the City of Markham, or Markham Dog Alliance.

Markham Dog Alliance reserves the right to verify the eligibility of potential winners.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest Period begins on Monday, March 16, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. EST and ends on Monday March 23, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

ENTRY

No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest.

There are no entry limits, however duplicate tags on the post are not allowed and can result in disqualification. All rules must be followed:

Markham Dog Alliance shall not be responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or stolen entries, or the inability to process entries.

All Contest entries are the property of Markham Dog Alliance.

PRIZE

There will be one (1) grand prize awarded at the end of the contest period.

🎁 • Applefest 4 general admission tickets (adults 19-59) and a 1L jug of cider (x2) (Value: $130+)

The prize must be accepted as awarded, has no cash value, is non-transferable, and may not be substituted except at Markham Dog Alliance’s sole discretion.

DRAW

The winner will be randomly selected through an online randomization comment picker. Chosen winner will then be checked to see if they followed all contest rules. Upon validation, winner will be contacted via Markham Dog Alliance.

ODDS

The odds of winning a Monthly Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the applicable contest period.

PRIZE CLAIM

Prior to receiving the prize, potential winner will be required to:

Show valid photo ID
Sign a declaration confirming compliance with the Contest Rules, releasing Markham Dog Alliance, the City of Markham, and Destination Markham from all liability in connection with the Contest and the prize, and consenting to the use of their name, city of residence, and photograph (or other likeness) without compensation in any publicity carried out by Markham Dog Alliance, Destination Markham, and the City of Markham.

The signed declaration must be completed at Barkham Festival 2026 at Markham Museum.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

By entering the Contest, entrants agree that Markham Dog Alliance, Destination Markham, and the City of Markham shall not be liable for, and entrants agree to release, indemnify, and hold Markham Dog Alliance, Destination Markham, and the City of Markham, their elected officials, directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates harmless from any injuries, losses, damages, claims, actions, and any liability of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly from an entrant’s participation in the Contest or acceptance, possession, or use of any prize that may be won.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

By entering the Contest, entrants consent to their personal information being collected, stored, used, and processed by Markham Dog Alliance, Destination Markham, and the City of Markham solely for the purposes of:

administering the Contest
contacting entrants
verifying eligibility
awarding prizes
promotional and publicity purposes related to the Contest

This will be done in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.

GENERAL

By entering this Contest, entrants agree to comply with these Contest Rules.

All decisions of Markham Dog Alliance are final.

Markham Dog Alliance may, in its sole discretion, prohibit any person from entering the Contest whom it believes to be abusing the Contest Rules. Such abuse includes entering false information and entering more than once.

Markham Dog Alliance reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest or the Contest Rules at any time without notice.

The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
